So far in my travels I have visited roughly 1/4 of all the countries in the world. That's both a lot and hardly any at the same time – there's still SO much of the world left to see.
And yet, even though there are more than 140 countries I've yet to step foot in, there are a few corners of the world that I find myself returning to again and again.
I travel a lot within the US, and go to Canada roughly once a year. I've also been to New Zealand 5 times, Ireland 3 times, and have visited Iceland, Norway, and Germany twice apiece. And then there's the United Kingdom. I've visited the UK almost every year since 2012 – and sometimes more than once in a year.
And the part of the UK that continues to draw me back again and again? SCOTLAND.
There are so many things to love about Scotland, from the beautiful Highlands to Edinburgh's historic Old Town. From the bagpipers and kilts to the hairy highland cows. From the calm lochs to the wild isles.
I freaking LOVE Scotland.
And to do my best to convert you into a #ScotlandLover, too, here are 35+ of my favorite photos from one of my favorite places in the world.
(A word of caution, though: These photos may indeed make you want to pack your bags and move to Scotland ASAP. Don't say I didn't warn you.)

By: Susan Hanson Cruise lines and environmentally focused groups unite to celebrate and protect our planet. Greening the Galápagos Santa Cruz Island’s lush cloud forest is home to the largest of 15 Scalesia species found in the Galápagos. These native trees and shrubs, which provide sanctuary to numerous types of endemic birds, are often compared to Darwin’s finches for their remarkable adaptability to the archipelago’s different vegetation zones. Scalesia are among the 30,000-plus seedlings planted in Santa Cruz’s Los Gemelos highlands as part of an ongoing collaborative effort between Celebrity Cruises and Galápagos National Park. Celebrity passengers and crew members alike have taken part in the reforestation project, which aims to restore areas affected by humans and invasive plants. Their enthusiasm and hard work have helped the program exceed its initial goal by 150 percent so far. A tree grows in the Galápagos. Photo by Celebrity Cruises. Music of the Sphere A...
Around the World in 10 Breakfasts Breakfast, the best and most important meal of the day in our eyes. Here’s a taster of what different nationalities around the world eat first thing to get them going for the day. There’s some pretty random shizzle in here! 10. Natto (Japan) Fermented soy beans are classed as a delicacy in Japan and if you can get over the pungent cheesy smell, strong flavour and slimy mucus-like texture they are very good for you. Natto is perfectly nutritious being high, in fibre with zero cholesterol, which means you can have more! Mmm yummy. 9. Hagelslag (The Netherlands) These popular sprinkles (translated as hailstorm) come in a variety of shapes, sizes and flavours, including fruit and chocolate. Not only to be enjoyed on ice cream, the Dutch and Belgians actually put them on buttered bread and toast! Not particularly nutritious but a great way to start the day on a sugar high. 8. Churros (Spain) Nothing beats churros and hot chocolate when ...
